Learn about direction of light and how to use it to your advantage, the different types of natural light, the most common mistakes when shooting in natural light and how to resolve them. You'll also get a taste of how using light modifiers and flash, both indoors and outdoors, can increase clarity and contrast and make your subjects "pop"!

  • I have a point and shoot camera. Is this class suitable for me too?

    You'll get the most out of this class if you have any kind of a digital SLR camera. However, if you have a point and shoot camera or are using your cell phone camera, you'll still learn a ton from modules 4-7, and possibly some of modules 1-2.

  • How do I get access to the class after purchasing it?

    After purchasing the class, you'll receive an e-mail with your login information. Sign in to the site, and all of the class videos and, if you purchased the enhanced or VIP versions, other course materials as well, will be at your fingertips. Watch each video online as many times as you want, and pause and rewind to your heart's content.

  • How long will it take me to complete this online photography class?

    If you were to watch each video back to back, without stopping to practice or take the quizzes or do the hands-on assignments (in the Enhanced and VIP Experience class versions), then it would take you approximately 3.25 hours to complete the course.

    However, I recommend that you do take the time to practice the materials covered in each module. If you set aside time to watch the modules and practice and do the assignments every week, then you could complete the course in 6-18 weeks, depending on how in-depth you choose to go into the assignments and how much time you commit each week. That said, this course is flexible. If you're busy and get distracted with life, have no fear, you have one year up to lifetime access, depending on which class version you purchase.
